Best use of Flash
Now this is a bloody hilarious site. What I find interesting though—and this is related to the current Flash/HTML 5 debate that’s going on—is how Adobe claims there are no problems with Flash. If you’re on a Mac and have one of the iStat widgets, just watch the spike in resource use once this site is playing. You can’t tell me that’s optimized very well, and if you’re on a laptop, watch how fast your battery will disappear.
I can’t say I have a firm stand on whether Flash should live or die and whether HTML5 and Javascript can do it all better, BUT… if Adobe is so worried about people abandoning Flash, then why don’t they just quit their bitching and whining and produce a better product? I’m sure they have the resources, but it’s seems they’ve gotten fat and lazy now since they bought the competition and are plugging their ears going la la la la la la… Refusing to believe there might be some room to improve their product.
Don’t like what people are saying about your product? You have two options: 1: bitch, complain and start lawsuits while stifling your own innovation or 2: prove them wrong and make it better than what they’re expecting.
